Gist: Glo halts Psquare contract renewal

GLO threatens to drop Psquare as its ambassador

The management of Nigeria’s biggest indigenous telecommunication company, Globacom, has refused to renew P-Square’s contract as the company’s ambassador.

While Mike Adenuga recently renewed the contract of its ambassadors, he decided to halt Peter and Paul Okoye’s endorsements, a situation which means the duo may not remain as the company’s ambassadors, immediately their current contract expires.

A top manager in GLO, who spoke on the condition of anonymity disclosed that the decision was imposed due to the show of shame that ensued between the company’s representatives and Peter, one half of the P-Square twins during the grand finale of the Dance with Peter talent hunt show.

He also admitted that GLO had defaulted on some of its promises made as the sole sponsor of the show but expressed dissatisfaction on how Peter overreacted by insulting our hierarchy in the process.

Information gathered was that when Mike Adenuga heard of the development, he felt embarrassed and gave the order that Psquare can no longer be his company’s ambassador.

As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach P-square to get their reactions on the latest development proved abortive.
